A leading engineering & shipbuilding firm in Wirral is seeking an experienced Pipefitter to fabricate and assemble pipework systems onboard ships. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in industrial pipefitting, TIG tacking skills, and the ability to read engineering drawings. Qualifications

  • Willingness to undergo BPSS checks and SC clearance.

Responsibilities

Overview

Recruit4staff are representing a leading engineering & shipbuilding company in their search for a Pipefitter to work in Birkenhead.

Job Details
  • Pay: £20.86 per hour PAYE (Overtime: Monday to Saturday at £31.29 (x1.5), Sundays at £41.72 (x2))
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm, with a 2:30pm finish on Friday
  • Duration: Temporary (Long-term temporary role)

Job Role: As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling pipework systems onboard ships using TIG welding techniques to tack up and interpreting engineering drawings. You’ll carry out pressure tests and inspections, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and deliver work to a high-quality standard in a dynamic marine environment.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications
  • Proven experience in industrial pipefitting
  • Ability to fabricate pipework
  • TIG tacking experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering/isometric drawings
Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications
  • City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent in Pipefitting
  • CCNSG Safety Passport or equivalent
Additional Information
  • Average working hours: 45–55 per week
  • BPSS checks and SC clearance required (or willingness to undergo)
  • Half shift available between 4:30pm-6:30pm (Overtime)
  • Saturday & Sunday Working Hours 8am-2pm (Overtime)
