Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the MHSOP inpatient team at Wold View at Foss Park Hospital, York.

The team's caseload consists of service users with organic mental health illnesses alongside complex long‑term health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hold own caseload after training and deliver group exercise classes on the ward.
  • Follow a physiotherapy intervention plan developed by the band 6 physiotherapist.
  • Work closely with the qualified physiotherapist to deliver specialist physiotherapy input.
  • Attend team meetings/huddles as required.
  • Perform administrative duties such as ordering equipment, collecting and recording statistics, and filing.
  • Provide peer support and education for staff, students and carers within the service.
  • Liaise with other healthcare services (orthotics, wheelchair services) on behalf of physiotherapists and act as a conduit between mental health and other providers.
  • Deliver physical interventions on a one‑to‑one basis and educational presentations to groups of service users.
  • Work in a dynamic environment requiring strong communication, interpersonal skills, dependability, approachability, flexibility and enthusiasm.
  • Take part in person‑centred, recovery‑focused assessment, treatment, intervention planning and rehabilitation to meet holistic needs of service users.
