Job Description




Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opening for an Orthopedic Physician Assistant at Dumfries Health Center in Dumfries, Virginia. This is an opportunity to independently manage an Ortho service for 28,000 military members. Work closely with Sports Medicine, Physical and Occupational Therapy departments and a skilled casting technician. Provide care commensurate with a general orthopedic practice including pediatric patients and fractures.

Job Details:

    Full Time, 40 hours per week | Monday through Friday

Scope of Practice:

  • Treatment of sports injuries
  • Overuse syndromes
  • Mild to moderate musculoskeletal injury
  • Follow-up orthopedic care
  • Urgent orthopedic care for acute injuries
  • Acute and chronic wound care, suture removal and debridement
  • Management of fractures, dislocation, sprains, strains
  • Splinting and casting
  • Foreign body removal
  • Scoliosis evaluation
  • Off the shelf bracing and orthotics

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant training program
  • Current certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • 2 years of orthopedic experience
  • Any active state license
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration number (certificate)
