Title

Physical Security & Access Control Engineer

Brief Overview

Responsible for planning, testing, installation, and servicing of physical security and access control systems across multiple job sites. Acts as a BTO participant ensuring project delivery on schedule, liaises between engineers and clients, manages post‑implementation fault finding, and oversees AV equipment repair.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct site surveys and produce installation plans aligned with client requirements.
  • Terminate and test structured cabling for IP‑based systems; deliver client training and handover documentation.
  • Ensure all work meets BS7671 and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform cable runs and trunking in high‑traffic environments.
  • Support maintenance contracts and reactive fault calls.
  • Communicate with customers, site contacts and Project Manager/Resource Planner.
  • Adhere to site rules, procedures and H&S.
  • Maintain project cleanliness and complete all documentation and sign‑offs.
  • Configure, diagnose, and firmware update logging services and asset registers.
  • On‑site work 90 %.
Qualifications & Skills
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electronic Security & CCTV Systems or equivalent.
