A healthcare practice in Coventry is seeking a Phlebotomist to join their clinical team. The role involves providing safe blood collection services, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining clinical protocols across multiple sites. This is an excellent opportunity to join Park Leys Medical Practice as a Phlebotomist, playing an important hands‑on role in supporting our clinical team and delivering high-quality patient care. You will work across all three of our site; Keresley Green, Keresley End and Fillongley and must be confident working at any location depending on service needs.
As a key member of our clinical support team, you will provide safe, accurate and reassuring blood collection services while ensuring every patient feels comfortable, respected and supported. You will work closely with our Nursing Team , GPs and administrative colleagues to ensure samples are taken, documented and processed efficiently.

In this role, youll carry out venepuncture safely and professionally, ensuring accurate patient identification, clear sample labelling and compliance with all practice protocols. You will record each procedure in the patients electronic record, prepare samples for collection, and ensure timely dispatch to the appropriate laboratory.
You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and well‑organised clinical area, reporting anomalies to the Nursing Team Lead and escalating urgent concerns to the On‑Call GP. You will also work closely with the Reception and Administration Teams to support smooth patient flow and good communication throughout the practice.
This role is suited to someone who works well under pressure, can communicate clearly with patients and takes pride in delivering safe, high‑quality care across multiple practice locations.

Key Responsibilities
Welcome patientswarmly, ensuring they feel comfortable, relaxed and informed before bloodcollection.
Verify patientidentity accurately and check details against the clinicians request form.
Obtain venousblood samples safely and professionally, following practice protocols andinfection control standards.
Label all samplesclearly, legibly and accurately to ensure correct patient identification.
Use the correctsample containers and follow appropriate storage and handling procedures.
Record details ofeach blood sample in the patients electronic record in line with practiceprocesses.
Prepare, packageand dispatch samples to the appropriate laboratory in a timely manner.
Identify andreport any unexpected findings, sample issues or patient concerns to theNursing Team.
Escalate urgentor significant clinical concerns immediately to the On‑Call GP.
Maintain a clean,safe and well‑stocked clinical environment.
Ensure allequipment is used, cleaned and stored according to infection prevention andcontrol policies.
Provide supportand clear communication to Reception and Administration teams to aid patientflow and coordination.
