A local healthcare practice in Aberystwyth is seeking a Primary Care Pharmacy Technician to enhance patient care and support clinical prescribing. The role includes assisting patients with prescription queries, medicines reconciliation, and overseeing prescribing clerks. You will work collaboratively with pharmacists and the healthcare team to ensure safe practices. The practice offers a friendly environment in a vibrant university town with excellent amenities and schools. This is a part-time position, ideally Wednesday to Friday, starting February/March 2026.
The Primary Care Pharmacy Technician will work alongside the practice's Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to support the clinical team in all aspects of prescribing and medicines safety.
The purpose of this role is to support improvements to maximise safe and best practice in prescribing and improve the quality of patient care. You will be a point of contact for patients enquiries regarding their prescriptions and will help patients to get the best from their medicines through effective medicines reconciliation after discharge and on other transfers of care, identification of patients potentially suitable for repeat dispensing, providing assistance in the monitoring of high-risk drugs, and handling of prescription queries within the areas of competence.
The role will also include training and development of practice based repeat prescribing clerks to support improved co-ordination and effective pharmacy administration within general practice, especially with relation to repeat prescribing systems and processes.
24 hours - ideally working Wednesday - Friday from February / March 2026. There may be scope for some additional hours.

Aberystwyth is a thriving university town which is also home to Welsh Government offices, Ceredigion County Council headquarters and the National Library of Wales. There are excellent primary and secondary schools in the area, along with numerous cultural and outdoor amenities including a leading arts centre, mounting biking, walking and numerous water sports.
