Job Summary:

Provide pharmaceutical technical services and professional advice.

Liaise with healthcare professionals and patients to enhance pharmaceutical care.

Develop the role of the Practice Pharmacy Technician to support clinical staff and improve patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Act as a Technical Pharmacy Advisor to Practice Clinicians.
  • Undertake patient-facing work to ensure effective medicines use.
  • Support initiatives for antimicrobial stewardship and national prescribing policies.
  • Manage repeat prescription requests and address administrative aspects of medicines management.
Supervision

Supervision Received: Operationally line managed by the Practice Pharmacists.

Supervision Exercised: Responsible for mentoring and supervising Prescription Clerks.

Key Working Relationships
  • Collaborate with Practice GPs, Pharmacists, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Engage with patients, carers, and administrative staff to improve pharmaceutical care.
