About the opportunity

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in leading the pharmacy team to provide a service that our patients can trust. With checking capability, you will have opportunities to develop your skills, progress your career, or continue offering excellent service to your community with ongoing CPD.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Providing expert, tailored advice to patients about available medicines, products, or Macmillan Cancer Support.
  • Delivering various services depending on store needs.
  • Building great relationships with your pharmacy team; coaching and inspiring them to deliver the highest standard of care.
  • Assisting with patient triage and distributing prescription handouts.
  • Taking ownership of legal, safe, and ethical decision-making in the pharmacy.
  • Managing operational tasks including stock replenishment, workload management, order fulfilment, and handling controlled drugs, ensuring patient safety.
  • Completing a recognized training program, such as Buttercups, or the Boots 6-week Accuracy Checking Programme if you do not already hold formal qualification in accuracy checking.
What you’ll need to have
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC and willing to complete our 6-week training course for prescription checking qualification.
  • A passion for coaching and leading a dispensary team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Motivation to improve for our teams, customers, and patients.
  • A desire to deliver services and outstanding patient care.
  • Ability to use pharmacy systems and technology.
It would be great if you also have

Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician with checking capability is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
