Job summary

A social care organization in Colchester is looking for an empathetic individual to support a young male in outdoor activities and socialisation. This part-time role requires honesty, reliability, and a genuine interest in helping those with disabilities. Hours are 4 per week on Saturdays from 11am to 3pm. Experience is not essential but a caring attitude is vital. This position also requires a satisfactory DBS disclosure, which will be covered.

About the Employer

We are looking for support for a young male who is very happy contented person, requiring support to attend activity centres, go shopping, taking to eateries, cinema trips and parks. This is a role suitable for a person who loves being outdoors.

About the Role
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support with food shopping.
  • Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
  • Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
  • Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.

The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Transport Requirement

Car driver preferred but not essential.
