Job summary

A local support provider is looking for a dedicated Personal Assistant to assist an individual living in Cumbernauld. Job Overview

Lewis is a laid-back, easy-going adult living in Cumbernauld looking for a Personal Assistant to join their support team.

Responsibilities

• Provide support with day-to-day living, including preparation and serving of meals and drinks.
• Carry out household tasks such as laundry and dishes.
• Ensure safety (e.g., lock doors).
• Transport to activities and provide social and communication support.
• Prompt the individual to take vitamins and administer PRN medication (e.g., paracetamol) when required.
• Observe changes in mood or behaviour and follow established routines and instructions.

Additional Shift Details

We are recruiting for an additional PA to cover weekends, involving 1–2 sleepovers per month with occasional Saturday daytime shifts (10am–4pm).

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience supporting individuals with autism and learning difficulties.
• Calm, good-humoured and proactive.
• Reliable and able to work within a caring role.
• Patience, kindness and an ability to encourage independence.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience is preferred, but training can be provided.
• Driver’s licence and own vehicle required; mileage allowance will be paid.

Hours of Work

30 hours per 4‑week period, mostly weekends (1–2 sleepovers per month, occasional Saturdays 10am–4pm).

Compensation

Hourly Rate: £14.00 per hour
Overnight Rate: £40 per shift

Employment Details

If you are successfully hired, you will be employed directly by a Private Employer on a PAYE basis and will be entitled to all statutory rights as set out by Employment Law such as paid holidays and statutory sick pay (where eligible).
