About the role

Hours: 10 hours per week. Location: North Shields. Pay rate: £12.60 per hour. Full UK driving licence essential.

I am looking for someone who is softly spoken, kind, and has a calming nature. You will need to have an understanding of neurodivergence and experience working with neurodivergent (ND) people, as well as individuals with mental health issues. Patience and a sense of humour are essential, as you will be supporting not only me but also my two ND children and our small dog.

You must be able to drive an automatic car and hold a full UK driving licence, as driving will be part of the role. Being comfortable with dogs is important, as our dog is an integral part of our family. Flexibility is key to this position, as our needs can vary daily, and we will rely on you to adapt to changing situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend art/yoga classes for mental well‑being
  • Assist with domestic tasks such as cooking, organising and maintaining, and shopping for items that can’t be sourced online
  • Offer showering support as needed
  • Assist with cooking and meal preparation
  • Flexible hours to accommodate appointments and other unexpected needs
Requirements
  • Understanding of neurodivergence and experience working with individuals with mental health issues
  • Patience, a sense of humour, and a calming nature
  • A full UK driving licence and experience driving automatic cars
  • Comfortable around dogs and able to provide care as needed
  • Flexibility to adjust to family schedules
