Job summary

A local support organization is seeking a caring and supportive female as a Support Worker for a 20-year-old young woman with physical disabilities in Tees Valley. The role involves providing personal care and assistance in social activities, requiring approximately 10 hours of work per week on a zero-hour contract. Ideal candidates will be reliable, committed, and possess a great sense of fun while engaging with the young person’s daily life. Experience and manual handling training are desirable, but full training will be provided.

Are you a caring person who wants to make a difference in a young person life? We are currently seeking to recruit a Support Worker to join our amazing team. We are looking for a warm and supportive female who can deliver person‑centred care & support to Annie a bubbly, intelligent, sociable 20‑year‑old young lady who has physical disabilities. Annie has a full and varied life and is looking for someone with a great sense of fun.

Employment Details

Bank position approx. 10 hours per week on a zero‑hour contract.

Pay
  • Wage: £12.21 per hour
  • Weekend rate: £14.50 per hour
Duties
  • Night shifts: Personal care/showering, hoisting, dressing & staying overnight (bed available) to assist turning and making comfortable throughout the night as & when needed.
  • Day shifts: Supporting Annie to live her independent life, socialising, swimming, going to cinema, eating out, shopping, walking her dog. Some light housework will be done throughout the week.
Requirements
  • Committed and reliable; willing to work on a one-to-one basis with Annie.
  • Must be female and a non-smoker.
  • Training in manual handling desirable; full training can be supplied.
  • References and an enhanced DBS check required.
