Job summary

West Yorkshire Police is seeking two People Systems Specialists to support HR/workforce systems, maintain data quality, and provide insightful reporting to inform decisions. You’ll work across the force to ensure data accuracy, security, and timely analytics.

The role involves responding to user queries, data validation, and supporting system upgrades while delivering strong customer service and collaboration with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Experience working with databases, systems, or HR/workforce management applications.
• The ability to work with data, produce reports, and identify trends or insights.
• Experience analysing, manipulating, or transferring data between systems.
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information in a clear and practical way.
• Experience providing support or advice in a customer-focused environment.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support managers and staff with day-to-day queries and guidance on People systems.
• Ensure systems run effectively; keep data accurate, secure and up-to-date.
• Produce reports, workforce information and analytics to support decision-making.
• Analyse, transfer, and validate data across multiple systems.
• Investigate and resolve system issues with colleagues and external suppliers.
• Support workforce planning and resource management processes, including shift patterns and working time compliance.
• Assist with system improvements, upgrades, testing, and new functionality introduction.
• Deliver excellent customer service and build relationships with stakeholders.
