Job summary

Arup is seeking a Payroll Manager – Americas (UK Based / 1 Year FTC) to lead payroll operations across the US and Canada and drive the global transformation to a single managed service provider, CloudPay.

You will define future-state processes, gather requirements, run workshops with global stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery of milestones while coaching the Americas payroll team.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing US and Canadian payroll operations.
• Proven payroll transformation experience including process standardisation, outsourcing or managed service implementation.
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems, payroll taxes and HR/payroll integrations.
• Experience working with global stakeholders and leading cross-functional workshops.
• Demonstrated project delivery skills including risk, issue and dependency management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience leading and developing payroll teams.
• Advanced Excel skills and a data-driven approach to problem solving.
• Knowledge of Dayforce and Oracle EBS/Fusion would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll transformation activities across the Americas, supporting the migration to a global managed payroll service.
• Partner with stakeholders to define future processes, operating models and business requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, manage risks and dependencies, and drive project delivery against timelines.
• Act as the primary liaison between regional payroll teams, CloudPay and the global project team.
• Support payroll integration activities with Arup's global Cloud HCM implementation and coach the Americas payroll team.
• Oversee the accurate delivery of US and Canadian payrolls, ensuring compliance with payroll, tax and statutory requirements.
• Produce management reporting, support audits and drive continuous process improvement.
