Job summary

Arup is seeking a Payroll Manager - Americas (UK Based / 1 Year FTC) to lead payroll across the US and Canada as part of a global payroll transformation with CloudPay. You will shape future-state processes and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and technical specialists to meet project milestones.

This role requires extensive payroll leadership, strong transformation experience, and a proactive, data-driven approach to ensure compliant payroll delivery across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing complex US and Canadian payroll operations.
• Payroll transformation experience including standardisation, outsourcing or vendor consolidation.
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems, payroll tax regulations and HR/payroll integrations.
• Experience working with global stakeholders and leading cross-functional workshops.
• Project delivery skills with risk, issue and dependency management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience leading and developing payroll teams.
• Advanced Excel skills and data-driven problem solving.
• Knowledge of Dayforce and Oracle EBS/Fusion would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll transformation activities across the Americas, supporting migration to a global managed payroll service.
• Partner with stakeholders to define future processes, operating models and business requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, manage risks and dependencies, and drive project delivery to milestones.
• Act as the primary liaison between regional payroll teams, CloudPay and the global project team.
• Support payroll integration activities with Arup's global Cloud HCM implementation and provide leadership to the Americas payroll team.
• Oversee accurate delivery of US and Canadian payrolls, ensuring compliance with payroll, tax and statutory requirements.
• Produce management reporting, support audits and drive continuous process improvement.
