Job summary

Arup is seeking a Payroll Manager for the Americas (UK Based) on a 1-year FTC to lead the transformation to a single global payroll managed service with CloudPay. You will oversee US and Canadian payroll delivery and standardise processes across regions, collaborating with CloudPay and the global project team.

The role requires extensive payroll expertise across the Americas, strong stakeholder management, and a hands-on approach to delivering project milestones within a global transformation

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing complex US and Canadian payroll operations.
• Proven payroll transformation experience, including process standardisation, outsourcing, managed service implementation or vendor consolidation.
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems, payroll tax regulations and HR/payroll integrations.
• Experience working with global stakeholders and leading cross-functional workshops.
• Demonstrated project delivery skills, including risk, issue and dependency management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience leading and developing payroll teams.
• Advanced Excel skills and a data-driven approach to problem solving.
• Knowledge of Dayforce and Oracle EBS/Fusion would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll transformation activities across the Americas, supporting the migration to a global managed payroll service.
• Partner with stakeholders to define future processes, operating models and business requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, manage risks and dependencies, and drive project delivery against agreed timelines.
• Act as the primary liaison between regional payroll teams, CloudPay and the global project team.
• Support payroll integration activities with Arup's global Cloud HCM implementation. Provide leadership and coaching to the Americas payroll team.
• Oversee the accurate delivery of US and Canadian payrolls, ensuring compliance with payroll, tax and statutory requirements.
• Produce management reporting, support audits and drive continuous process improvement.
