Overview
My client is a well-established Accountancy firm. Based in a friendly and supportive team in either Leeds or Chesterfield, you will be working on a portfolio of clients. Our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join them on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of weekly and monthly payroll.
- Managing a portfolio of clients — from 1 to several hundred on payroll.
- End to end payroll.
- Manage your own workload.
- Handle new starters and leavers.
- Handle pension contributions.
- Process statutory payments.
- After approval is received from the client, carry out pay-run for the client.
- Arrange payslip distribution.
- Process leaving documentation including P45s.
- Complete monthly and year end procedures.
Desirable skills and attributes
- Previous payroll experience.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Strong initiative.
- Ability to work alone.
- Experience processing multiple payrolls.
- Comfortable and competent using payroll software.
- Must have good payroll knowledge for answering queries.
- Responsible for all aspects from start to finish.
- Bureau experience not essential but desirable — high volume/multiple payrolls suffices.
