Overview

My client is a well-established Accountancy firm. Based in a friendly and supportive team in either Leeds or Chesterfield, you will be working on a portfolio of clients. Our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join them on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of weekly and monthly payroll.
  • Managing a portfolio of clients — from 1 to several hundred on payroll.
  • End to end payroll.
  • Manage your own workload.
  • Handle new starters and leavers.
  • Handle pension contributions.
  • Process statutory payments.
  • After approval is received from the client, carry out pay-run for the client.
  • Arrange payslip distribution.
  • Process leaving documentation including P45s.
  • Complete monthly and year end procedures.
Desirable skills and attributes
  • Previous payroll experience.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Strong initiative.
  • Ability to work alone.
  • Experience processing multiple payrolls.
  • Comfortable and competent using payroll software.
  • Must have good payroll knowledge for answering queries.
  • Responsible for all aspects from start to finish.
  • Bureau experience not essential but desirable — high volume/multiple payrolls suffices.
  • Auto enrolment.
