Parkwood Leisure is on the lookout for a Payroll Administrator to join our team. What You'll Do
- Act as the go‑to person for all payroll related matters.
- Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, undertake general administrative duties and collaborate with the payroll team.
- Process payroll from beginning to end for your own portfolio.
- Provide payroll checking and advisory service to all levels of management and employees.
- Apply up-to-date payroll legislation knowledge and client relationship skills.
- Liaise with contract managers/administrators to resolve data input errors.
- Check data input for accuracy and ensure it aligns with company policies.
- Review and validate payroll inputs, including salaries, benefits, allowances, and deductions.
- Ensure payrolls are accurate and paid on time per each company's requirements.
- Administer auto‑enrolment and other company pensions.
- Provide help‑desk service to employees for Self‑Service Portal registration/sign‑in.
- Action payroll‑related administration (e.g., earnings enquiries, DWP documentation, mortgage applications) in a timely manner.
- Administer employee deductions and payments/documentation to relevant bodies such as Child Support Agency, Attachment of Earnings Orders, etc.
- Adhere to the company audit procedure.
- Manage the Payroll inbox and resolve all queries within stipulated time frames.
- Comply with statutory requirements, company policies and standard procedures.
- Ensure data protection and confidentiality is always maintained.
You'll have
- Strong understanding of statutory deductions, including income tax, National Insurance contributions, and pension contributions.
- Ability to deal effectively with telephone and written queries from both internal and external agencies.
- Experience preparing payroll for multiple internal clients and working with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in payroll software, ideally PeopleXD, for end‑to‑end payroll processing.
- Excellent communication and numeracy skills.
- Understanding of data protection regulations and confidentiality requirements in handling employee information.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and set procedures.
- Diplomacy, confidentiality, and a customer‑facing approach are essential.
- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with changes in UK payroll regulations and best practices.
