Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a Building Supervisor (with no supervision) to provide cleaning and non-cleaning services. The role includes security, keyholding, and monitoring systems, plus coordination of cleaning duties and reporting to the School Principal.

It requires responsibility for opening/closing, safety, and after-hour callouts. Hours are 6 hours per day, 3 days per week (Mon-Wed), with shifts 8am-12pm and 3pm-5pm.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months’ demonstrable experience as an assistant building supervisor or building supervisor/caretaker/cleaner in a school environment.
• Prepared to respond to call outs at short notice, including unsociable hours, as a key holder.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations relevant to the role; ability to apply COSHH and related safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Security of premises and contents, opening/closing, ensuring doors/windows are locked at end of day.
• Operate and monitor security systems including CCTV, alarms, and report faults.
• Respond to after-hours incidents and ensure premises are secure and cleaned after clearance.
• Plan and supervise cleaning duties, manage materials, and ensure Education Authority standards are met.
• Direct cleaning staff and coordinate with line manager; maintain records and reports.
