Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is recruiting a Building Supervisor (with no supervision) to provide cleaning and non-cleaning services under direction. You will be responsible for security, mechanical/electrical tasks, cleaning supervision, porterage, and administration as part of daily premises management.

The role requires experience in school environments, knowledge of health and safety regulations, and ability to work collaboratively within a team and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience: minimum six months in roles like assistant building supervisor, building supervisor, caretaker or cleaner in a school environment.
• Demonstrate ability to respond to callouts at short notice, including during unsociable hours.
• Essential criteria include knowledge of school building supervision, health and safety, manual handling, and use of security systems.

Responsibilities

• Security: manage premises security, open/close, lock up, key control, monitor alarms and respond to incidents.
• Mechanical/Electrical: operate boiler/ heating, lighting, monitor energy use, inspect equipment.
• Cleaning: supervise cleaning staff and maintain Education Authority cleaning standards.
• Porterage/Administration: manage stores, transport, reports, stock records, and paperwork.
