Job summary

Co-op Digital is seeking a Funeral Arranger to join its Funeralcare team in Street. This part-time role offers a 15-hour work week across Monday to Friday with shifts from 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm.

The job involves direct physical contact with the deceased as part of normal duties, performed with professionalism, dignity and health and safety standards. You don’t need prior funeral industry experience; full training and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills with clients and colleagues in writing and verbally.
• Ability to work with numbers and perform basic calculations such as cash handling, discounts, data entry and invoicing.
• Keen eye for detail and accuracy, ensuring regulatory policies are followed.
• Good IT skills and ability to use a range of devices and systems, and to learn new applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe and welcoming, reporting maintenance issues.
• Work with digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Ensure regulated work like selling funeral plans is referred to Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist with manual handling of coffins and care of the deceased (training provided).
• Update client management applications with accurate, timely information.
