Job summary

Co-op is seeking a Funeral Arranger in Mitcham to join our Care team. The role is part-time (18.75 hours per week) with a London Allowance and benefits. You will support families, organise funeral arrangements, and ensure the venue remains professional and welcoming for clients.

No prior funeral industry experience is required as full training and support are provided, along with a competitive salary, pension, and Co-op discounts.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with clients and colleagues in writing and verbally.
• Ability to handle simple calculations, cash handling and invoicing.
• Attention to regulatory policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe and welcoming, reporting maintenance issues as needed.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work like selling funeral plans to Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist with manual handling of coffins and care and preparation of the deceased.
• Update client management apps with accurate, timely information.
