Co-op Group is recruiting for a Funeralcare team member in Burscough. This part-time role offers 18.75 hours per week with shifts on Wednesday 1pm-5pm and Thursday & Friday 9am-5pm. You will support families, maintain a respectful environment, and handle client documentation using digital systems.

No previous funeral industry experience needed as full training and ongoing support are provided. The role includes salary, pension, and staff discounts with Co-op benefits.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills across client and colleague interactions.
• Ability to perform basic calculations and cash handling.
• Attention to detail to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate records.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn new devices and systems.
• Passion for delivering great service and building relationships.
• High levels of empathy, discretion and care.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including moving coffins with training provided.

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming funeral home environment; report maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Reference regulated work like selling funeral plans to Funeral Plan Arrangers; ensure proper routing.
• Assist with manual handling of coffins and preparation of the deceased.
• Update client management applications with accurate information.
