Job summary

Co-op Group is hiring for a part-time Funeralcare role in the UK. The position runs 18.75 hours weekly, including shifts Mon-Sun with overtime, and some night and weekend work. Full training, a wide range of benefits, and pension are provided.

You will assist with preparation, transportation, and care of the deceased, maintaining dignity and safety standards throughout the process. A full UK driving licence is essential, and the team supports personal and professional development.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting) with training provided.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn new systems.
• Calm, compassionate approach to customers in emotional circumstances.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations and handle with professionalism and empathy.
• Bear coffins on the day of the funeral and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased in our care for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client management applications with timely, detailed records.
• Lift and move coffins safely using proper techniques and equipment.
