Job summary

InPost UK is seeking a Field Service Engineer to repair parcel lockers on client sites, with duties spanning break-fix, maintenance, software configuration and training for staff and subcontractors.

The role covers diagnostics, upgrades, and documentation, with occasional travel within the UK and internationally. A van is provided for company use, and office visits in Hemel Hempstead may occur as needed.

Qualifications

• You will need similar experience in a Field service technical engineering role on electrical/mechanical equipment and be proficient in the use of hand tools and diagnostic tools (multi-meter).
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing equipment, with experience in software configuration and firmware updates.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide technical training.
• Ability to manage tasks efficiently, ensuring quality and meeting deadlines across multiple markets.
• High accuracy in quality control and documentation updates.
• Experience working with diverse teams, including international subcontractors and internal staff.
• Flexibility to travel for service and training activities both in the UK and occasionally internationally.
• Familiarity with parcel locker or similar systems, electromechanical devices, and organisational IT tools.
• Effective time management and the ability to handle tools and components responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on parcel locker machines (APMs) on site.
• Maintain and modernise parcel locker machines with hardware/software upgrades.
• Configure and install software/firmware on electromechanical equipment.
• Process and report repairs using internal channels.
• Manage tools and components for parcel locker systems.
• Support personnel-related systems and training.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to standards across contractors.
• Provide technical support to employees and subcontractors, including international ones.
• Contribute to developing new parcel locker solutions and maintain documentation.
• Prepare and update technical manuals and documentation.
