A leading children's hospital in London is seeking a 10 PA Substantive Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry. The role includes providing comprehensive dental care, supervising junior staff, and participating in multidisciplinary treatment plans. Candidates must be registered with the General Dental Council and meet specific qualifications in paediatric dentistry. The position offers a salary range of £109,725 to £145,478 per annum based on experience and qualifications, with potential for part-time or job-share arrangements.
Applications are invited for a 10 PA Substantive Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry based within the Dental & Maxillofacial department at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Part‑time and job‑share arrangements would be considered and encouraged. The Maxillofacial and Dental team provide maxillofacial surgery, orthodontic services, paediatric dentistry and restorative dentistry for children and teenagers. The department sees over 5,000 outpatient and around 300 inpatient appointments per annum, many of whom are under multiple clinical teams because of their complex medical needs. The unit benefits from a recently refurbished, purpose‑built suite with six clinical rooms. The department has three all‑day operating lists per week shared between the specialties.
Clinical duties include outpatients and inpatient general anaesthesia treatment lists. Sessions will be dedicated to new patient/review clinics, treatment (with or without inhalation sedation) and theatre lists. The post holder will participate in clinical supervision, support and teaching the junior staff, therapists and hygienists.
We are keen to make our workforce as diverse as the communities we serve, and we hope to attract applications from underrepresented groups, including people with Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic heritage, people with a disability, and people from LGBTQ+ communities. By growing an ever‑more diverse workforce, we will have a greater range of perspectives and knowledge, meaning that we can provide the children and young people at our hospital with even better care.
Our hospital is committed to creating an environment that is open and inclusive. Our staff are encouraged to engage with colleagues through the following networks: REACH (Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage), ENABLED (Enhancing Abilities & Leveraging Disabilities Network), PRIDE and Women’s networks; all of which are sponsored by a member of our Executive Management Team.
We want to ensure that all of our people, regardless of their background, are seen and heard. We want to attract applicants that share our commitment to inclusion and that understand diversity is a strength that is embraced and valued.
