Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, site maintenance, property repairs or facilities support is desirable.
• Practical maintenance skills.
• Understanding of site security and health and safety.
• Ability to identify faults and report issues promptly.

• Reliable, proactive and responsible attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school premises as required.
• Carrying out regular inspections of buildings and grounds.
• Completing general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Maintaining outdoor areas, pathways and playgrounds.
• Checking doors, windows, gates and locks.
• Reporting hazards, damage and maintenance concerns.
• Supporting basic health and safety checks.
• Keeping corridors and communal spaces clear and tidy.
• Preparing rooms and facilities for school events.
• Assisting with deliveries and moving equipment safely.
• Maintaining organised storage areas and secure tool storage.
• Liaising with contractors and supporting access arrangements.
• Monitoring the condition of fixtures, fittings and furniture.
• Responding to requests from school staff.
• Following school policies, security procedures and safeguarding requirements.
