Marchant Recruitment is seeking a reliable School Caretaker for a Reading primary school. The role focuses on security, maintenance and daily upkeep to ensure a safe, clean and well-presented environment for pupils and staff.

The successful candidate will have prior school caretaking experience and be able to manage routine tasks with a proactive approach, liaising with the School Business Manager and external contractors as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a School Caretaker or similar school maintenance role.
• Practical maintenance and basic repair skills.
• Understanding of site security, health and safety.
• Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Flexible, proactive and able to work independently.

Responsabilités

• Opening and securing the school site and classrooms.
• Carrying out routine site inspections and reporting issues.
• Undertaking minor repairs, painting and basic DIY.
• Setting up spaces for assemblies, meetings and exams.
• Monitoring facilities and maintaining safe communal areas.
• Supporting deliveries, waste management and movement of furniture.
