Marchant Recruitment is seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker for a busy secondary school in South London. You will help keep buildings and outdoor areas well presented, safe and secure, supporting the opening/closing routines and responding to maintenance requests throughout the day.

The role requires hands-on, independent working within a collaborative site team and a commitment to safeguarding and safety.

Qualificações

Previous caretaker or facilities role in a school or education setting is preferred.
Knowledge of building maintenance and safety procedures is desirable.
Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks safely and to a high standard.
Willingness to undertake relevant checks and training, including DBS if required.

Responsabilidades

Carry out routine inspections of buildings and external areas.
Perform minor repairs and basic decorating as needed.
Support opening and securing of premises; check doors, windows and access points.
Identify hazards and report large repairs to contractors.
Set up classrooms and spaces for assemblies, meetings and events.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of outdoor spaces and pathways.
Monitor stock and request replenishment of supplies.
Follow health and safety procedures and report incidents promptly.
Work discreetly around pupils, staff, parents and visitors.
Support the wider site team with other reasonable premises duties.
