Marchant Recruitment is aiding a welcoming primary school in Woking, Surrey to recruit a dependable School Caretaker. You will support maintenance, security and upkeep of the premises, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for pupils and staff.

The role involves opening and securing buildings, carrying out routine inspections, minor repairs, health and safety checks, and coordinating with contractors. Previous school-site experience is essential and DBS clearance will be required.

Qualifikationen

• Previous experience as a caretaker, premises assistant or site operative within a school is essential.
• Practical maintenance skills and confidence completing minor repairs.
• Understanding of school-site security, health and safety and safeguarding.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
• Good communication skills and a reliable, hands-on approach.
• Flexibility to support site opening, locking and occasional school events.

Aufgaben

• Opening and securing the school buildings and external areas.
• Carrying out routine site inspections and reporting maintenance issues.
• Completing minor repairs and general maintenance tasks.
• Checking entrances, playgrounds, corridors and communal areas for safety and tidiness.
• Supporting health and safety checks and maintaining site records.
• Assisting with preparation of classrooms, halls and other spaces for activities.
• Liaising with contractors and reporting concerns on site work.
• Responding to urgent premises issues and supporting emergency procedures when required.
