Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in the United Kingdom seeks a dispatch specialist to ensure timely despatch of materials to production and delivery of finished goods to customers. You will coordinate deliveries, manage call-offs and maintain accurate records for domestic and international shipments.

The role requires strong planning, communication and teamwork, with a focus on OTIF performance and safety. Occasional support to other departments may be needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to plan and organise to meet production schedules.
• Strong communication and people-management abilities.
• Experience with order dispatch and stock control.
• Awareness of health and safety best practices.
• Counterbalance forklift license preferred or training provided.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT systems.
• Ability to liaise with internal departments professionally.

Responsibilities

• Ensure finished product and stock items are dispatched on time.
• Keep production facilities supplied to execute the operating plan.
• Coordinate deliveries and manage the call-off system.
• Work with production, stock controllers and planner to meet OTIF.
• Book delivery vans and couriers and prepare consignments.
• Maintain documentation for domestic and international shipments.
• Liaise with customers and manage delivery queries.
• Maintain consumables stock and conduct monthly stock takes.
• Support Finishing department during peak periods.
• Stock check and cycle counting as required; support CI initiatives.
• Ensure health and safety compliance.
