Job summary

M&S Opticians is seeking an Optical Advisor to deliver high-quality eye and hearing care services within our store, helping customers select eyewear and ensuring a seamless shopping experience. You will maintain records, manage stock, assist with fittings and basic repairs, and support sales targets while delivering outstanding customer service.

Retail experience and strong communication are essential, with customer focus and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong background in retail, customer service, or sales.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational abilities.

• Commercial awareness and ability to maximise sales opportunities.
• Previous optical or healthcare experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Promote optical and hearing services within the store to drive appointments.
• Maintain accurate customer records and manage stock levels.
• Provide outstanding customer service and handle enquiries professionally.
• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses suited to their needs and lifestyle.
• Perform basic adjustments and repairs.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
• Support the fitting and dispensing of contact lenses.
• Conduct preliminary pre-tests and measurements.
• Work towards achieving store sales targets.
• Support marketing initiatives and special events.
