Job description

Job Title: Assembly Operator

Location: Irvine, CA

Duration: 06 Months

Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Job Summary: Responsible for the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Under close supervision, performs assembly, repair, and testing operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. Performs routine assignments according to specified and standardized procedures with continual review.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure job documentation for cell operations and functions is accurate and up to date.
  • Communicate ideas, problems, and solutions clearly to all levels of manufacturing management in written and oral form.
  • Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with internal and external customers.
  • Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate safety devices during all operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production processes and meet quality and profitability metrics.
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure traveler and quality documents are correct, all parts are traceable, and quality issues can be addressed.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager to set and monitor individual goals and cell performance metrics.
  • Support all Divisional initiatives in compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
  • Understanding and ability to use electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.
  • Ability to prioritize work by sequencing and timing tasks based on precedence and importance.
  • Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
  • Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.
Dress Code (Interview and On-the-Job)
  • Clothing must be non-shedding, free of frayed hems or loose threads; no tassels, fringes, glitter, or sequins.
  • Sweaters, sweater vests, loose knit, fleece, or loose fiber garments are not allowed.
  • Clothing must be clean and free of visible contamination.
  • Upper clothing must fit under the lab coat/gown; no turtlenecks or sleeves extending beyond cuffs.
  • Head coverings (if worn) must be tightly woven, clean, laundered, covered with a bouffant, and fully contained under the lab coat/gown.
  • Loose-fitting clothing not permitted around machinery or soldering/brazing torches.
  • Shoes must be closed-toe, closed-heel, with heels under 2 inches; no sandals, clogs, slippers, or woven styles.
  • Socks or stockings required.
  • No changing shoes outside gowning rooms.
  • Torsos, upper arms, and legs must be covered; no short shirts, sleeveless tops, or pants/skirts above the ankle.
  • Ankle-length skirts allowed only with full-length stockings, leggings, or pants underneath.
  • No nail polish, artificial nails, or similar coatings.
  • No jewelry or body piercings that can pierce gloves or cannot be covered.
  • No makeup; lip balm in stick form allowed when applied outside production areas.
  • No scented products except deodorant.
  • Lotions not allowed after hand washing.
  • Cover any open or bleeding wound with a bandage.
  • No offensive clothing or accessories allowed.
