Job summary

A leading environmental services company is seeking an Operations Support Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations at two production plants in Clitheroe. You will be responsible for managing a team of 16 staff, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining client relationships. Hours: 38 hours per week, Mon - Fri 8am to 4pm

We are seeking an Operations Support Supervisor to manage the day-to-day operations of two production plants, leading a team of 16 staff including shift operators, engineers, and support staff. This role provides essential operational support while developing client relationships and driving continuous improvement in a chemical manufacturing environment.

What you'll be doing:
  • Manage day-to-day operations of two production plants, ensuring operational parameters and product quality standards are met at all times
  • Monitor and maintain production output and ensure effective distribution to meet critical KPIs
  • Coordinate and communicate all operational outages with the client, ensuring seamless service delivery
  • Work with on-site engineers to plan essential maintenance and ensure robust PPM programs are in place to minimise operational breakdowns
  • Support continuous improvement and process development projects by implementing improvements and managing change within the team
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the client's senior leadership team, customers, and hauliers
  • Assist the Contract Manager with team management responsibilities including objective setting, performance reviews, and employee relations for a team of 16 staff
What we're looking for:
  • Minimum HNC qualification in a scientific or engineering discipline (Essential)
  • Operational experience in a chemical manufacturing environment as a supervisor, engineer, or chemist would be desirable
  • IOSH Managing Safety qualification in health and safety (Essential)
  • Demonstrable experience writing and updating safety and operational documentation including RAMS, SOPs, COSHH assessments, and permits to work
  • Strong IT skills with experience using Google or Microsoft packages, specifically Sheets and/or Excel, with strong data analysis capabilities
  • Experience of managing or supervising a team, with coaching abilities for teams and individuals
  • Proficient relationship management and effective communication skills, with customer service experience
