Operations Director - Data Centre Programme Delivery

Permanent | Executive Leadership Role

Vickerstock are exclusively recruiting for a leading provider of off‑site modular and integrated plantroom solutions to the data centre sector across the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

We are seeking an Operations Director to take full accountability for the delivery of data centre programmes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, to the highest quality, and in line with client governance requirements.

This is a senior leadership role with real authority over operational performance, risk management, client satisfaction, and organisational scale.

The Role

As Operations Director, you will own the end‑to‑end delivery of data centre projects, spanning:

• Project execution across logistics, site installation, testing, and commissioning
• Operational planning, forecasting, and delivery risk management
• Performance, productivity, and throughput across all project teams
• Cost management, margin protection, and resource optimisation
• Client engagement and governance at Board level
• Health, Safety, Quality, and compliance oversight
• Continuous improvement in delivery models, systems, and processes

You will provide Board‑level visibility of programme status, risks, and opportunities while shaping an operating platform capable of supporting rapid, repeatable delivery at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end delivery of data centre programmes across multiple regions
• Develop and execute operational strategies that ensure predictable, high‑quality delivery
• Maintain forward visibility of capacity, workload, and delivery risk
• Implement data‑driven performance monitoring and reporting for early intervention
• Partner with Commercial and Finance to protect margin and improve forecasting
• Build a high‑performing, scalable operational leadership team
• Lead Health, Safety, Quality, and compliance initiatives in line with mission‑critical standards
• Champion continuous improvement, standardisation, and digital enablement across delivery

About You

• Senior leader with proven experience in data centre programme delivery or mission‑critical project operations
• 10+ years in senior operational roles managing complex, multi‑site projects
• Demonstrable record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards
• Strong commercial acumen and financial oversight skills
• Data‑driven decision‑maker with experience using operational dashboards and reporting
• Comfortable engaging with clients and stakeholders at Board level
• Skilled at building, developing, and scaling high‑performing teams
