Job summary

GM Performance Power Units is seeking a Battery Controls Engineer to join the ERS team in Concord, NC. You will develop embedded software in C/C++ for the HV battery management system and implement real-time control algorithms for protection, SOC, and SOH.

You will work with cross-functional teams on sensors, diagnostics, and communications, performing MiL/SiL/HiL testing and ensuring software quality, safety, and regulatory compliance for a high-performance motorsport platform.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in embedded software for automotive/motorsport.
• Experience with battery management and high voltage systems.
• Strong C/C++ programming in real-time embedded environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded software for HV battery management systems.
• Implement real-time control algorithms for battery protection and state of health.
• Conduct MiL/SiL/HiL testing and trackside support.
• Produce requirements and unit tests; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
