GM Performance Power Units is seeking a Battery Controls Engineer to join the ERS Team in Concord, NC. You will develop embedded software for the HV battery system and implement real-time control algorithms for protection and state monitoring.

You will work with cross-functional teams on controls and hardware, perform MiL/SiL/HiL testing, and ensure software quality and safety for high-performance motorsport applications.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related discipline; OR Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Expertise in battery management systems and battery control algorithms (protection/derating, SOC, SOH).
• Familiarity with high voltage systems, CAN/CAN FD, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART; embedded C programming and RTOS.

Responsabilités

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded software for HV battery management systems and related components.
• Implement sensor data acquisition, hardware abstraction layers, real-time comms, and diagnostics features.
• Collaborate with controls and electrical hardware teams to ensure cohesive operation.
• Conduct MiL/SiL/HiL testing and trackside support; develop tests and documentation.
• Maintain code quality, safety, and regulatory compliance for motorsport applications.
