Job Overview

The Registered Manager will hold Ofsted registration for a children's residential home, ensuring that the setting provides outstanding care in line with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and Ofsted inspection framework. The role requires strong leadership, safeguarding expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the children's residential home in line with Ofsted standards and regulations.
  • Ensure high-quality, child-centred care that promotes safety, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.
  • Act as the Ofsted Registered Manager, ensuring compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Provide strong leadership, supervision, and development for staff teams.
  • Oversee safeguarding practices and act as Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Work in partnership with professionals, families, and agencies to support children's progress.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and staffing effectively.
Skills
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for ResidentialChildcare (or working towards within regulatory timescales).
  • Significant experience in a management role within a children's residential setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, QualityStandards, and Ofsted SCCIF.
  • Experience of safeguarding children and young people, including multi‑agency working.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate staff teams across multiple sites.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
