Introduction
Lansdowne Housing & Care Ltd is a newly established children s care and support for looked after children in need of care and accommodation.
We aim to empower children, adolescents, and young adults, by providing person-centred and tailored support, fostering positive development, and creating a nurturing environment. Through mentorship, educational programs, work opportunities, and community engagement, we aim to enhance their well-being, build life skills, and prepare them for a successful transition into adulthood. At the core of our services are a range of specialist therapeutic interventions and support methods, that allow for holistic strength-based assessment approaches.
Your Role
As the Registered Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading a dedicated team, ensuring children and young people receive the support, care, and stability they need to thrive in a residential setting. You will be responsible for service delivery, workforce development, and regulatory compliance, ensuring the home meets OFSTED and Local Authority standards.
You will Support the Residential Lead and manage a team of care staff, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and delivering high-quality care.
You will Facilitate the registration process with OFSTED, making significant contributions to recruitment, systems, and policy development and operational systems. You will Conduct audits, risk assessments, and ensure robust safeguarding practices are in place.
You will develop and oversee care plans tailored to each child s needs, prioritising their safety, emotional well-being, and personal development.
You will Liaise with local authorities, external agencies, social workers, and families to ensure a collaborative approach to care
This role requires strong leadership, operational management skills, and a deep commitment to the well-being and progress of young people.
All staff are expected to:
Location / Department
People may be recruited for specific locations and homes. However, they will be expected to, when required, work at other locations, either temporarily or permanently across Lansdowne Housing & Care services.
Line Manager
The Registered Managers are managed by the Responsible Individual.

Qualifications
Diploma Level 3 in CYPD / NVQ Level 3 Working with Children or equivalent
Diploma Level 5 in Management / NVQ Level 5 Management or a willingness to complete within 24mths
Experience
Experience of working with Ofsted and Local Authorities.
At least 24 months experience working in a Residential Children s home setting with 12 months in a supervising capacity
Experience of motivating others and improving services
Extensive experience in a similar setting and managing OFSTED inspections.
Commitment to obtaining or possessing the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
A passion for positively impacting the lives of young individuals.
Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
Experience in working with children with trauma and loss.
Experience of motivating others and improving services
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of general health, safety and well-being of children.
In depth knowledge of legislation
Proven leadership experience within a Good or Outstanding OFSTED rated children's home.
Familiarity with OFSTED regulations and safeguarding protocols.
Strong organisational prowess and ability to effectively manage daily operations.
Exceptional communication skills (written & oral), coupled with a resilient and proactive problem-solving approach.
Full UK / EU Driving Licence for manual vehicles preferred
General knowledge of how children generally develop and learn.
Able to work with web base information/internet
Computer literate in Word, Excel and Outlook
Use of own car (Desireable but not essential - mileage paid)
