Job Title: Deputy Manager / Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home (EBD)

Location: London

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Reports To: Director of Children's Services

About the Organisation

Our client is a well-regarded provider of children's residential care, specialising in support for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The organisation is committed to delivering safe, child-centred care with a strong focus on safeguarding, professional development, and positive outcomes.

Role Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a Children's Residential Home in London for young people with EBD. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the home, ensuring that it delivers outstanding care in line with Ofsted requirements and regulatory standards.

This is a pivotal leadership role, requiring a proactive individual who can inspire and manage a team effectively, and ensure that each young person receives the support they need to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the home complies with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and achieves a minimum Good Ofsted rating.
  • Provide leadership to the care team and promote a child-focused, therapeutic culture.
  • Oversee safeguarding practices, care planning, and risk management.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Develop strong working relationships with external partners, including local authorities and Ofsted.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Minimum of three years' experience in a managerial role within a children's residential care setting.
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • In-depth understanding of EBD and relevant legislation.
  • Enhanced DBS and the right to work in the UK.

Desirable:

  • Training in therapeutic care models.
  • Experience in improving Ofsted outcomes.
  • Full UK driving licence.
