A leading healthcare and education provider is seeking a part-time Occupational Health Advisor to enhance their Occupational Health service. This role involves advising on candidate health questionnaires, conducting assessments, and supporting workplace health initiatives. Although primarily home-based, travel to offices is necessary. Job description

Were currently looking for a part time Occupational Health Advisor or Nurse, reporting to our Lead Occupational Health Advisor to continue the development of our in-house Occupational Health service. Having brought the Occupational Health service in house earlier in 2025, the benefits to individuals and to the business have already proven themselves, meaning we are now looking to expand the service. You will support senior leaders to make decisions regarding candidates who are onboarding as well as supporting processes for existing employees with health requirements.

This will include suitability of individuals for roles, appropriate adjustments and development of meaningful risk assessment through delivery of quality Occupational Health assessments.

Main duties of the job
  • Review and advise on pre-employment candidates health questionnaires, undertaking occupational health assessments where required. This will involve liaising with Onboarding Team, Service Leadership and HR Business Partners supporting the process of health risk assessments and decision making on fitness/suitability of candidate for role. Where necessary support risk assessment meetings including the candidate.
  • Undertake Occupational Health Assessments where appropriate and complete relevant referral paperwork for occupational health expert supplier referrals.
  • Support follow up actions based on occupational health reports.
  • Working closely with the Lead Occupational Health Advisor, support process of reasonable adjustments, including management of Access to Work and other suppliers of other equipment.

KeyAccountabilities

Supportthe successful onboarding of candidates by managing the pre-employment healthassessment process liaising with Onboarding, Service Leadership and the HRBusiness Partners.

Supportthe management of employee ill health and disabilities throughout theiremployment, working with Employee Relations, HR Business Partners and ServiceLeadership and providing expert advice and guidance.

Support thedevelopment of a programme of positive health initiatives and programmes whichsupport positive employee health and well being

KeyDuties

Review and advise on all pre-employmenthealth questionnaires, liaising with Onboarding Team, Service Leadership and HRBusiness Partners supporting the process of health risk assessments anddecision making on fitness/suitability of candidate for role. Support the development and managementof Preferred Supplier List for occupational health expert providers ensuringall supplier requirements have been adhered to in order to ensure theeffective and timely support for the management of a range of health issuescovering positive attendance and management of short and long term absence.

Undertake non specialist OccupationalHealth Assessments and complete relevant referral paperwork for occupationalhealth expert supplier referrals.

Support follow up actions based onoccupational health reports.

Work closely with Employee RelationsTeam and HR Business Partners in the management of absence and positiveattendance

Support process of reasonableadjustments, including management of Access to Work and other suppliers ofother equipment.

Support process where requiredadjustments cannot be met by the business which may include capabilitymanagement.

Support the development of costedproposals for positive health and wellbeing initiatives and programmes

Requirementsof Role

This role is mostly home based but willrequire the ability to travel to services and central office. Continuousprofessional development and maintenance of relevant Occ Health professionalstatus is required. External supervision may be required for the role whichwill be funded by the company with formal pre agreement.
