This role is responsible for creating, managing, and continually evolving the competency framework, working with the training team to ensure consistent and appropriate learning courses are available and allocated and a user engagement approach that ensures we fully unlock the value of NX. Working closely with NX Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and business Capability Owners, the Competency Lead will translate expert knowledge into rich, immersive adoption experiences, drive the use of best practices, and support the growth of empowered key users who become the future digital design and manufacturing leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competency Development & Learning collaboration

  • Translate SME-level knowledge into accessible, structured adoption content including guides, tutorials, models, and work alongside our training team to provide e-learning modules, and hands-on workshops.
  • Build and maintain a library of rich, engaging materials aligned with business standards and NX / Teamcenter processes.
  • Ensure all competency materials reflect the latest system configuration, standards, and methods introduced by the transformation programme.
Community Building & User Engagement
  • Grow and nurture an active community of NX users, including Key Users, Champions, and advanced practitioners.
  • Lead the user engagement strategy through communities of practice, drop-in clinics, newsletters, user events etc.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to Key Users to develop them into future digital design and manufacturing experts.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
Governance, Standards & Compliance
  • Ensure all learning approaches and user adoption activities are aligned with business standards, processes, and governance.
  • Collaborate with NX SMEs, Process Owners, and Configuration Leads to maintain consistency in methods and tool usage.
  • Promote and enforce standardised approaches to modelling, drafting, PMI, variant management, and manufacturing approaches within NX.
Adoption, Performance & Reporting
  • Monitor and report on adoption metrics, competency progress, user engagement, and areas requiring intervention.
  • Identify skill gaps, training needs, and emerging challenges across user groups.
  • Manage, triage, and track user queries, escalating to SMEs where required.
Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current with Siemens NX capabilities, industry best practice, and digital engineering trends, ensuring the competency roadmap evolves accordingly.
  • Contribute to the long-term Digital Engineering strategy as part of the transformation programme.
Qualifications & Experience

  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
