Main Purpose of Job

This position organizes, prepares, presents, and evaluates designated curriculum course content and learning experience. This position plans, coordinates, conducts, and evaluates the nursing orientation program for new employees. This position assists in providing new employee orientation for all new nursing and on-going education and training for the nurses.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university. Experience: Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric setting. Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications or Nursing specialty codes in the Nursing Instruction field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following: Experience working with adolescents with emotional disabilities and court involved. Experience preparing training curriculum for nursing and non‑nursing staff.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 or possess a current multi-state license in the primary states of residence declared by the candidate.
  • Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
  • Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain a current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification are subject to call‑in and, therefore, will be required to provide the facility with a phone number where they can be reached.
