Nursery Cook
Sweet Peas Day Care & Teaching Nurseries – Rothwell
£12.50 per hour | Full-time | Monday to Friday

Sweet Peas Rothwell cares for children from 12 weeks to 5 years in our vibrant, purpose-built Day Care and Teaching Nursery. Our Rothwell team prides itself on providing a nurturing, homely environment where children thrive — and mealtimes are a huge part of that.

We’re looking for a caring, reliable, and organised Cook to run our lovely nursery kitchen day to day. You’ll prepare and serve healthy, nutritious meals for our children, ensuring every dish meets dietary needs and follows Sweet Peas policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and produce meals and snacks to a high standard for our children
  • Ensure all meals meet dietary, allergy, and portion requirements
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment
  • Wash and store utensils and equipment after use
  • Receive and store deliveries correctly, checking stock and use‑by dates
  • Support the Catering & Hospitality Manager with menu planning and food orders
  • Work closely with the nursery team to ensure every child’s needs are met
About You
  • Friendly, reliable, and caring, with a genuine love for working in a childcare setting
  • Experience in a kitchen or catering role (nursery or school experience is an advantage but not essential)
  • Good understanding of food hygiene (Level 2 Food Safety preferred or willingness to complete training)
  • Organised, tidy, and attentive to detail
  • A team player who’s always happy to help where needed
