Job description

We're looking for No. 1 Sound Technicians, Senior Sound Technicians and Sound Technicians to join or team on Fixed Term Contracts.

CFT are looking for a No.1 Sound engineer capable of mixing large scale musical, joining our in-house full time HOD and Deputy sound to lead the show. Familiarity with Digico SD T-series software desirable. Joining our seasonal team in a senior role, taking responsibility for leading teams, creating and operating show mixes on our radio mic'd plays and learning mix cover for our musical. Applicants should have experience of having worked in producing theatre before.

Responsible for radio mic running, show rigging and show operation. You will have experience of setting up sound systems, ideally of running radio mics and be familiar with show control systems such as Qlab.

In February Chichester Festival Theatre will announce our Festival 2026 programme which runs from March to October, and we're looking for a brilliant backstage team to join us, with contracts of various lengths and start dates which can be discussed at interview.

The 2026 Festival season promises a fantastic mix of plays and musical, including world premieres and new writing. We work with some of the UK's most prominent theatrical creative teams in our two world class theatres, as well as a variety of other spaces across the Festival Season. We bring people - artists and those who support artistic work - together, in an environment where creatively they can flourish and where everyone is valued.

(£690 per week + subs where applicable - average 48 hour week)
