Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking an experienced Night Shift Manager for our North Benfleet store. You will lead overnight replenishment, prioritise deliveries and ensure shelves are stocked while safeguarding your team.

You may operate the store largely solo during night shifts and take responsibility for safety and smooth operations. You will coach colleagues to deliver outstanding service, monitor KPIs, and drive performance while maintaining excellent standards.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering brilliant customer service and coaching colleagues to do the same.
• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment—motivating others and keeping operations running smoothly.
• Operational leadership: taking responsibility for store operations in the absence of senior managers.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed KPIs across sales, availability, customer satisfaction or colleague engagement.
• Experience managing employee relations issues, including performance and absence management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team overnight to deliver all replenishment activities, prioritise deliveries, organise the warehouse and replenish shelves.
• Oversee full store operation overnight, ensuring safety and wellbeing of colleagues.
• Ensure standards are brilliant by morning so the store is ready to serve customers.
• Manage performance, capability, disciplinaries, scheduling and pay for team members.
