Job Title: Night Sitter / Waking Night Carer

Location: Southport, Formby, Ainsdale & surrounding areas

Hours: Night shifts – typically 10pm–7am (varied rota)

Job Type: Permanent / Part-time / Bank

We are looking for caring, reliable Night Sitters to support vulnerable adults in their own homes overnight. You will stay awake throughout the shift and provide comfort, safety, and monitoring while the client sleeps. This role involves supporting people living with dementia, mobility issues, palliative needs, or long‑term health conditions.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is calm, patient, and able to work independently.

Main Duties
  • Keeping the client safe and comfortable through the night
  • Completing regular welfare checks (usually hourly)
  • Supporting with personal care, continence care or repositioning (if required)
  • Monitoring breathing, pain, sleep patterns, and any changes in condition
  • Following the client’s care plan
  • Recording tasks and observations in real time
  • Using PPE and maintaining infection control
  • Communicating any concerns to the on‑call manager
  • Remaining awake and alert for the entire shift
Requirements
Essential:
  • Caring and compassionate nature
  • Reliable and able to work alone
  • Good communication skills
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willing to complete mandatory training (provided)
Desirable:
  • Experience in home care or care homes
  • Experience with dementia or palliative care
  • Ability to work additional shifts if needed
