Job summary

Changing Lives is seeking a Nightshift Support Worker (Waking Nights) to ensure the safety and wellbeing of women and children in the refuge during the night. The role provides a supportive presence, responding to emergencies, safeguarding concerns, and practical needs while maintaining a calm environment.

Due to the women-only environment, this position is open to female applicants only in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

About the Service - Housing & Homelessness Services

A safe home is the solid base from which you build your life. We support people who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless, as well as providing specialist accommodation and outreach services for rough sleepers, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, women and young people.

About the Job

Due to the nature of the service and the requirement to provide support within a women-only environment, this position is open to female applicants only. This is an occupational requirement and is applied in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

The Nightshift Support Worker (Waking Nights) will ensure the safety, security, and wellbeing of women and children residing in the refuge during the night. The role provides a supportive and reassuring presence, responding to emergencies, safeguarding concerns, and practical needs, while maintaining a calm and safe environment. The worker will also carry out essential housing management tasks, record-keeping, and handover to ensure continuity of care and support.

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
