Job summary

OurCoop is seeking a compassionate Funeral Care Assistant to join our Birmingham-based funeral team. You will be the first contact for families at the scene, helping with care and presentation of the deceased, and delivering the highest standards of professional service.

This permanent night-shift role runs 7.54 pm to 8.00 am, four nights on and four nights off, with extra pay for work between 10 pm and 6 am. A full UK manual driving licence and DBS check are required.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to lift and transfer the deceased.
• Willingness to work night shifts.
• Compassion and empathy in handling families.

Responsibilities

• Care for the deceased with dignity and respect.
• Present the person who has passed away to the highest standards.
• Support families and act as first contact at the scene.
