Job summary

OurCoop in the UK is seeking a compassionate Funeral Care Assistant to be the families’ first point of contact at the scene of bereavement. You will support the care and preparation of loved ones, delivering dignity, respect and professional service at a difficult time.

You’ll work as part of a funeral team, possibly on standby and on-call shifts, with DBS checks required for new joiners from 1 December 2023. Driving licence (manual/automatic) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to lift and transfer the deceased person.
• Full UK Manual driving licence (valid for driving manual and automatic vehicles) and readiness to assist with on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Caring for families at the scene of bereavement and being the first point of contact.
• Oversee preparation and presentation of the deceased with dignity and respect.
• Participate in Standby and On-Call rota as part of responsibilities.
